Talk about infinity and beyond.
If you can believe it,В Toy StoryВ is officially 20 years old on Sunday. And of all the thingsВ Toy StoryВ has given us over the years (two incredible sequels, a lot of emotions, another sequel coming soon), it has also given us some toys that we totally envied when we were both a child and not so much a child anymore.В In honor of the big anniversary, we picked our five favorite toys from the movie and answer the question we were asking 20 years ago: Woody or Buzz?
5. Hamm
Hamm is such a useful toy. He is both an evil mastermind (Andy is so creative with his villains) and an actual practical place to keep your spare change.
4. Slinky Dog
Besides having a lot of wisdom and several real talks for Woody (more on him below), slinky dog was actually two toys in one. He was a slinky (literally endless fun) and a dog (endless fun that's also cute).
3. Rex
Maybe its the contrast between his identity (ferocious T-Rex) and his actual personality (terrified but lovable wuss) but we have a lot of love for Rex. Plus you can really never go wrong with a T-Rex toy.
2. Woody
We may like one toy better (see below) but we agree with Andy that if there was one of the bunch to take to college, it would be Woody. More than just a fun toy, Woody is the security blanket you just can't let go of. He's your link to home. And it helps that he's both a literal and figurative softie.
1. Buzz Lightyear
Sorry, Woody fans, but Buzz canВ fly sort of. Yes he's so annoying at first and it takes time to break through is plastic exterior to his heart, but once you do, you get to go to infinity and beyond. That's just a little more exciting than the Old West.
